JoLynn Smith is a junior at Shawnee Mission West High School. She lives with her family in Lenexa, Kansas. This summer, she was selected as an ANNpower Vital Voice. Through this, she attended the ANNpower Vital Voice Leadership Forum in Washington D.C. She was also selected as a global delegate to the 2014 Trust Women Conference in London. As a freshmen, JoLynn partnered with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, the Federal Direct Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and RealityU, as well several community organizations to teach financial literacy to her freshmen class as part of MoneySmart Month Kansas City. For her help in leading this project, the FDIC recognized her as an Outstanding Community Leader. She has continued to be an active part of MoneySmart Kansas City. JoLynn has also received Spotlight Acknowledgement from the Alliance For Economic Inclusion. Recently, she was a featured speaker at an Alliance For Economic Inclusion meeting. Through the Women’s Foundation of Kansas City,JoLynn is a member of the Rachel Alexandra Girls Grant Project. On weekends, JoLynn can be found refereeing soccer. She is an avid country music fan and also studies private voice at Kansas City School of Music.
